Congratulations, Graduates!
The Academy would like to congratulate all of the Lower Mills Campus 8th Grade Graduates of the Class of 2010! Thank you for being wonderful students, leaders, and friends! We are so proud of all your accomplishments and know that you will experience much success in the future. Best of luck to you and your families as you enter the next chapter of your life as Pope John Paul II Catholic Academy Alumni! We look forward to hearing about your high school experiences this fall.
Lower Mills Science Fair
This June, each student in the Lower Mills Middle School presented a Science experiment to peers, teachers, and families in the Lower Mills Gymnasium. The students worked very hard on their projects and did a terrific job! Congratulations to all our science fair participants. The Academy would like to thank Ms. Harnedy for the great success of the science fair!
Grade 5A News!
This Christmas season, Grade 5A at the Lower Mills Campus is remembering those who serve our nation so courageously. Each student wrote a Christmas letter to the soldiers in Afghanistan to wish them a happy holiday season and thank them for their service and dedication.
5A is also studying Marketing in Social Studies class. With Christmas around the corner, the class decided to focus on Candy Canes! They have made up their own jingle and marketed 12 different flavors of candy canes! We may see some real business entrepeneurs someday! Keep up the good work 5a!
K2 Collects Food for the Poor with the Mayflower 3
The K2 of the Lower Mills Campus has been hard at work collecting canned goods and other non-perishable foods for the Lower Mills Food Drive, which began earlier this month. As Thanksgiving approaches, they class has decided to store their canned goods in the container they named the Mayflower 3. The Academy would like to thank Ms. Betty, Sister Mary Lou, and all the K2 students for their enthusiasm and hard work for the less fortunate in the community! Keep up the great work!
Grade 1A Celebrates the Rosary
Ms. Hebard's Grade 1A class at the Lower Mills Campus has learned the Rosary! Throughout the month of November, the students will be celebrating the Rosary with guest prayer leaders. On November 10, 2009, Ms. Hebard's parents joined the class to lead the students in their prayers! The Academy would like to thank Mr. and Mrs. Hebard for taking time out of their schedules to take part in this special event. Congratulations to Grade 1A for all their hard work and achievement!
Grade 2 Takes a Nature Walk
On Wednesday, November 4, Grade 2 students at the Lower Mills Campus took a Nature Walk in Dorchester Park. This hands-on experience corresponded with the students' examination of the Autumn in the classroom. By gathering fallen leaves, flowers, and more, the students collected evidence of the nature all around them.
