September 2008 Tuition Rates, Payment Options and Financial Assistance

Tuition Rates

K2 (age 5) through 8th Grade

The new school will not have “in and out of parish” tuition rates but has established one standard set of tuition rates for all 5 campuses. There will be family discounts for several students attending in a family.

These new tuition rates will be in effect starting September '08.

The K 2 (age 5) thru 8th grade tuition rates and family discounts will be as follows:

Current Students Discount for Year One

For all student’s currently enrolled in one of the 7 catholic elementary schools there will be a tuition discount for the September ’08/’09 school year. For details contact your current principal or call the Pope John Paul II Catholic Academy office at 617 265-0019.

New Students

For all new students enrolling in September for the 2008/2009 academic year the tuition rates and family discounts will be the rates as stated above for K2 through 8th grade.

Pre K (age 3) and K1 (age 4) Programs

Pre-K and K1 tuition for 2008-2009 school year is $4,200, which is approximately $100 per week. In order to be eligible for Pre-K, a child must be 3 years old on or before September 1, 2008 and completely toilet trained.

Pre-K (3 year olds)and K1(4 year olds) classes will run as full day programs during regular school hours, 5 days per week. The average class size for Pre K and K1 will be limited to 15 students. The curriculum will be center-based and will include religious education. Classroom materials are designed to meet your children at their current level of development. Students from all backgrounds will find structure, educational and spiritual tools that they will need to flourish and succeed.

Pre-K and K1 tuition is not eligible for family discounts or financial aid but may be eligible for the Federal Care Credit and a State Tax deduction. Voucher Program information will be available this spring. Children attending the Pre-K and K1 programs are eligible to enroll in the F.A.C.T.S. Tuition management program which accepts tuition payments in a single payment or a 10 payment plan at no additional cost.

Payment Options

There will be 3 payment plan options for Pope John Paul II Catholic Academy. We will be using the F.A.C.T.S Tuition Management System. Additional information on the F.A.C.T.S program and financial assistance will be made available through meetings at the current schools in February and March.

PLAN #1: Full tuition paid directly to the school by July 15th 2008 receives a $100.00 discount. This is a non F.A.C.T.S payment plan. The check should be made out to Pope John Paul II Catholic Academy.

PLAN #2: Two Equal Payments due in July '08 & December '08 using the F.A.C.T.S Tuition Management Service.

PLAN #3: Ten Monthly Payments starting July '08 through April '09. Payments will be set up for Electronic Funds Transfer on either the 5th or the 20th of the month through the F.A.C.T.S. Tuition System.

Financial Assistance

There will be financial assistance to all qualified families based upon income levels. The Catholic Schools Foundation and a new Pope John Paul II Scholarship Fund will be committed to increasing the amount of financial aid for the September 2008 school year. Our hope is that with this additional aid we can continue to make a strong Catholic education affordable for all children who want to attend Pope John Paul II Catholic Academy.

How to Apply for Financial Aid

All Financial Aid is applied to the tuition account. Only students / families that complete the F.A.C.T.S. Aid and Grant Assessment are eligible for tuition assistance from Catholic Schools Foundation or the Pope John Paul II Scholarship Fund. Applications can be completed manually or online by April 1st. The deadlines must be followed.
